Frequently Asked Questions

Is your Playdough safe, if my child puts it in their mouth?

Yes. Our dough is made using 100% food-grade ingredients and is lab-tested and certified to be taste-safe (though not meant for eating).

We know toddlers explore with their mouths, so our formula is created keeping that in mind. That said, we always recommend supervised play.

Is this safe for children under 3?

Yes, in case of toddlers under 2 years of age, always engage with adult supervision.

Even though many commercial brands label dough as 3+, our dough is made with simple, safe ingredients and is appropriate for toddlers who are supervised during play.

Does it contain chemicals or preservatives?

    No harsh chemicals.

    No toxic preservatives.

We use minimal, child-conscious ingredients found in most kitchens, designed for sensory safety and longer shelf life without compromising on safety.

    Is it allergy-friendly?

    Our dough contains wheat (flour-based).

If your child has gluten allergies or specific sensitivities, please check with us before purchasing.

How does Play Dough actually help my child?

    Play-Dough supports:

    โ€ขโ ย  โ Fine motor skills

    โ€ขโ ย  โ Sensory regulation

    โ€ขโ ย  โ Focus and concentration

    โ€ขโ ย  โ Emotional calming

    โ€ขโ ย  โ Creativity and imagination

Squishing, rolling, pressing are repetitive motions that help regulate an overstimulated nervous system of children.

My child gets overstimulated easily. Will this help?

Yes. Sensory play like dough, rice, pasta provides grounding input to the hands, which helps calm the brain.

Itโ€™s especially helpful after screen time, school, or meltdowns.

How long should my child play with it?

Even 15โ€“20 minutes of uninterrupted sensory play can make a visible difference in mood and regulation.

Although you will notice your child being super engaged, focused and happy for durations longer than 20 minutes when indulging with our sensory play kits.

How long does the playdough last?

If stored properly in an airtight container, it typically lasts a good 6 months.

Remember to use clean hands, use the dough often and keep it stored away from moisture or dirt.

How do I revive dried Playdough?

If the dough becomes dry or crusty when left open,ย

    1. Add a few drops of water and cooking oil mix.
    2. Knead thoroughly.
    3. Add more to achieve the desired softness
    4. Store it back into airtight containers.

Avoid adding too much water at once. If you do, just add some plain refined flour and knead it well.

My dough has become sticky. What do I do?

Sticky dough usually happens due to โ Humidity/Warm weather as Salt (NATURAL PRESERVATIVE) is one of the key ingredients that loses water. This happens usually during monsoons or direct sunlight.

It is a good sign indicating the lack of chemicals/ stabilisers used in your child;s taste safe dough.

    To fix it:

    1. Sprinkle some refined plain flour.
    2. Knead well.ย
    3. Make sure the consistency is tight.
    4. Store back into airtight container

Pro Tip: Donโ€™t add too much flour at once.

Will the colors stain hands or clothes?

Our playdough colors are child-safe and washable. Some pigments can be stronger than others than could leave residue like turmeric/ beetroot in our kitchen.

    However, we recommend:

    โ€ขโ ย  โ Playing on a mat

    โ€ขโ ย  โ Wearing play clothes

    โ€ขโ ย  โ Staying away from water

    โ€ขโ ย  โ Cleaning spreads/spills quickly

Why is handmade dough softer than store-bought?

Commercial dough is designed for long shelf display life. There is use of stabilisers and chemical preservatives so that the dough maintains its durability and consistency. Indicating that it is not taste-safe or completely non-toxic.

Our dough is intentionally softer and more pliable to make it easier for little hands to squeeze and mold. The lack of chemicals makes it safe for children as young as 1 year old to play with.

    What makes your brand different?

    We are founder-led moms.

We created this after struggling with commercial dough that wasnโ€™t toddler-safe. Also, with our education background and previous profession as psychologists, we felt a need for sensory play in India for our children struggling with screen time, focus, overstimulation and boredom.

    We focus on:

    • Safety
    • Sensory science
    • Emotional regulation
    • โ Quality ingredients
    • Thoughtful design

Why is your dough priced higher than mass brands?

Because itโ€™s handmade in small batches with safer ingredients, better texture, and curated sensory design.

    Youโ€™re investing in:

    • โ Quality
    • โ Safety
    • โ Experience
    • Not just a toy โ€” but a developmental tool

Important: It feels like an investment that will last you longer. Not a cheap toy that you will have to toss away once dried.

Do you customize kits? or Design theme based gifts?

Yes, we offer themed kits and limited customizations.

DM us with your requirements and timeline. We will curate kits best suited to the desired age group, theme and budget.

    Do you ship Pan-India?

Yes, we ship across India. Shipping timelines vary by location.

    How long does delivery take?

Orders are usually dispatched within 3-5 days of order placed and delivered within 5-7 working days post dispatch depending on your city pincodes.

My child just mixes all the colors. Is that okay?

Yes. Thatโ€™s creative exploration. Afterall it is theirs to use and most children love to decide how they would like to use it.ย

    You can:

    โ€ขโ ย  โ Give one color at a time.

โ€ขโ ย  โ Check our instagram page to find creative activities using mixed playdough.

    โ€ขโ ย  โ Or accept the โ€œbrown eraโ€ as part of development ๐Ÿ˜‰

My child loses interest quickly. What should I do?

    Try:

    • Adding tools with playdough.
    • Giving open-ended prompts (โ€œCan you make food for teddy?โ€)
    • Choose playdough as a learning resource (math, language)ย
    • โ Once a week rotate play prompts/ elements to play with.
    • Use playdough together as a connection building activity together.

    Is this messy?

Sensory play is a controlled mess.

Use a tray or mat and set simple boundaries. The benefits outweigh the cleanup. Mess with limitless benefits should be an inevitable part of childhood.
